The Ladies European Tour event, the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open 2012, will take place in Belek, Turkey at National Golf Club and Calista Luxury Resort. The tournament week is being held between 7th – 14th May 2012, and the actual competition days will be 10th-13th May 2012. Laura Davies will be among the pro’s attending the competition this year. Matrix and Golf Tours Turkey are going to be sponsoring the event and will be providing all the official transfers. With a prize fund of 250,000 € and well known names in golf attending, it promises to be a great event.The Ladies European Tour is a professional ladies golf tournament which was founded in 1979 and is based in the UK. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and Players’ Council. Most of the players are European, and the largest non –European contingency is from Australia.
The 2011 Turkish Airlines Ladies Open was held between May 5-8 at the National Golf Club in Belek. Christel Boeljon from Netherlands won with 5-under par and a 287 score, and took the 37,500 € first place prize. Florentyna Parker, England and Becky Brewerton, Wales, came in second place, both with 2 under par and 290 score.
A total of 126 professional lady golfers from 26 countries competed in the 3rd tournament to be held in Turkey.
